Thanks to you, and our wonderful partners at the Citi Foundation, the South Florida Summer BizCamp will be taking place in 2015. We are so appreciative of those who donated to this cause through GlobalGiving; your support will help 25 students from the Miami area strengthen their business ventures and learn the skills necessary to compete in a modern workforce. These contributions, along with Citi’s support, are allowing NFTE South Florida to teach young people to think like entrepreneurs, empowering them to rise above their personal circumstances and take control of their future.

One such young entrepreneur who came through the NFTE South Florida program is Everette S., the Founder of Little Brown Box Works. “I love technology and where it is going,” says Everette. “My friends and I always had these amazing ideas for mobile apps, and so we put our passions together and formed the company we are today.” As she continues her passion for entrepreneurship with Little Brown Box Works, Everette has been named as the Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year for NFTE South Florida. The Global Young Entrepreneur Awards are an opportunity for NFTE to identify and recognize young people from across the globe who demonstrate excellence in learning and dedication to their entrepreneurial pursuits. Each young entrepreneur will receive a small grant to be used toward their business expansion, which is perfect for Everette, who is currently raising funds to grow Little Brown Box Works. The company’s first app is currently in use in multiple cities across the country. Entitled TWAGD (Today Was A Good Day), it provides users with a chat forum built around the theme of positivity and gratitude. Everette considers apps only the beginning of a larger plan for her business, and we’re excited to see how she continues to grow Little Brown Box Works as a Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year!

Having come through the NFTE South Florida program, Everette knows what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Thanks in part to your donations on GlobalGiving, 25 more students in the Sunshine State will have the same opportunity she had. Your support is crucial to our bold mission: that all young people can be entrepreneurial leaders.
