Summary

14 year old Lovlie was abandoned by her parents after the 2010 earthquake. Her grandmother Yvette took her in. Before moving in with her grandmother, Lovlie had never been to school. But in Haiti, school is not free, and Yvette could only afford to send Lovlie to class for a few months in 2010 and 2011. Lovlie desperately needs an education to avoid the poverty that forced her own parents to abandon her. With your help, that's exactly what we'll give her.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

School in Haiti is not free, and if a family cannot pay, their children simply do not attend. Lack of education locks these children in a cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to school not only improves children's lives, but strengthens Haitian communities in the long-term.

How will this project solve this problem?

Lovlie has lived her whole life in poverty because her parents was never able to receive the education they needed to find work and support her. Your donation will give Lovlie the education she needs to ensure she does not follow in his parents' footsteps.

Potential Long Term Impact

Access to education for children from families who do not have the means to send their children to school means that those children will have the skills they need to find stable jobs and escape the poverty of their families.
