Chanini was one of ten kids cared for by her grandmother when the Haitian earthquake struck. Her grandmother couldn’t afford to send Chanini to school so she asked the HTDC orphanage to care for her.
But with so many other needs, like food, to worry about, the orphanage couldn’t provide Chanini with an education either.
Without an education, Chanini’s future looked bleak. Without basic literacy and numeracy, she would almost certainly been doomed to a life of poverty.
But Chanini is lucky - she has you in her life.
Your fantastic generosity means that we’ll be able to keep Chanini in school and learning the skills she needs to build a brighter tomorrow. Chanini’s been doing really well in school, but if she needs extra help we’ll be there to get her the tutoring she needs.
We’ll be able to support Chanini because you chose to give. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Chanini. Thanks so much.
We’ll keep updating you about Chanini and all her classmates through this project’s parent page, Provide a Safe Home for Haitian Orphans. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Emma@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
Thanks again, and very kind regards!
