Thank you for being a part of this project and making this happen. Christian's family reports that Christian and Christie have been inseparable since she came home. They are officially working together now as service dog team and have passed all necessary tests involved. Christian recently had an incident at school where he got really confused and forgot where he was and what he was doing. Christie kept him calm and sat him on the floor and barked for help as a teacher was walking by. nd Christie provides a 10-15 minute alert before the onset of a seizure which is the best possible result. During the many hospital stays, Christie comforts him and kept him calm. She fetches his meds (among other things) and can open doors. Christie has been his lifeline and his Mother said she can't possibly begin to describe the bond that they have.

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation grants comfort and hope to those affected by epilepsy through providing monitoring resources, vital information, and a safe haven for conversation and community. Our main goal is to raise awareness of SUDEP and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families living with epilepsy.
We raise funds to provide education about SUDEP and to provide seizure response dog grants and movement monitors that help to protect against SUDEP. SUDEP is an acronym for Sudden Unexpected (Unexplained) Death in Epilepsy.
We stay up-to-date on current trends in medical technology in order to be able to provide the most effective devices as they become available. We respect the value and quality of life of every person living with epilepsy.
We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow individuals and families greater independence, increased confidence, ability to enjoy social environments, and community understanding.
