After months of hard work, we finally have the paperwork needed to import 17,500 packets of non-genetically modified seeds to Zimbabwe!  This means that 2,500 orphaned families will receive squash, pea, onion, tomato, pepper, carrots, okra, cabbage, and many other seeds so they can grow gardens to feed them nutritionally.

Families who are going to receive small livestock (goats, chickens, guinea fowl, rabbits) will receive seeds so that they can use the manure to fertilize their gardens and they can also feed some of the animals while eating well themselves. The families will receive training in conservation farming so they can grow their veggies even in conditions with little to no water.  I am super excited about this because the kids in our programs really need good food, year-round.

This is a great project that couldn't be done without YOU.  Thank you for caring for the little ones and for giving us something tangible to do for them.  When they save some of their seeds for next year's planting, they will be helping themselves.  Good stuff!
