This project aims to end gender based violence by organizing an international advocate exchange to learn best practices globally. Four domestic violence and sexual assault prevention advocates from AODVC and SASHAA will work in programs in India, Morocco, Brazil and Japan for one month. When each advocate returns, an advocate from India, Morocco, Brazil and Japan will come to the USA for one month. Advocates will exchange accommodation and training at no cost. Airfare, visas & food are needed.
Gender based violence is a global epidemic. AODVC and SASHAA work on a global scale. This project will enable eight advocates (four USA, four foreign) to immerse themselves in best practices of gender based violence prevention in India, Morocco, Japan and Brazil for one month. This experience will strengthen ties, embrace and celebrate diversity, help develop new policies and practices that enhance the operations of AODVC, SASHAA and the foreign programs that participate.
Given the global landscape of AODVC and SASHAA, this international advocate exchange will enhance the understanding and best practices of gender based violence programs in India, Morocco, Japan and Brazil. Advocates from those countries will also have one month to learn best practices in the USA. This global exchange aims to incorporate best practices to save lives and prevent gender based violence.
AODVC and SASHAA work on a global scale. By providing advocates with an in depth gender based violence prevention program, the dissemination and exchange of ideas will enhance each participating programs response to ending gender based violence. The stronger programs become, the more we can prevent the loss of life due to violence.
