Project Personnel

Yvonne Wallace Blane - Director of Rehabilitation

Yvonne has been a state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator and educator since 1988. The wildlife foster program that exists today through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was largely pioneered by Yvonne in collaboration with FWS Region 3 Administrator Marlys Bulander. Yvonne has written and presented papers for local, national and international wildlife organizations.

Steven J. Blane - Co-Founder and Advanced Wildlife Rehabilitator

At Fellow Mortals, Steve specializes in wildlife releases, including release site analysis. He has designed all aspects of the hospital and oversees facility construction and maintenance. Steve has experience and training in management and worked for various manufacturing companies in that capacity.

Karen McKenzie & Jessica Massaro Nass - Wildlife Rehabilitators and Wildlife Biologists

Karen joined Fellow Mortals staff in 2003 following an internship and is a licensed advanced wildlife rehabilitator. Karen also does research to benefit the animals at the hospital and species as a whole. Jessica joined Fellow Mortals in 2005, after an internship, and is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Jessica also helps train education birds and presents education programs.
