Dear Project Supporters,

According to AllAfrica.com, "The ongoing recruitment of 2,970 more primary cycle teachers by government will be completed in 2016... On the whole, the ministry's priorities for 2016 will dwell on the pursuit of four programmes notably the democratisation of the primary cycle, literacy, preschool development as well as governance and institutional support. Besides the planned construction of over 1,300 classrooms in 2016, other ambitions of the ministry will be to increase the literacy rate of 65.72 per cent recorded in 2015 to 66.04 per cent in 2016." ~ Cameroon: Basic Education - Recruitment of 2,970 Teachers Continues

Children in Cameroon are at risk of dropping out of school for lack of money to buy school books and supplies. The challenge to getting these supplies to the children that need them is the cost of shipping the supplies to Cameroon. Thanks to YOUR support, we received $100 from 4 donors to help toward this effort. These books will help our students learn to read and improve their literacy.

In this video Ajomuzu Collette Bekaku, the Founder and Executive Director of CAPEC Cameroon expresses appreciation to Develop Africa and GlobalGiving donors for support provided to CAPEC and the Bitame Lucia School in Cameroon. Over the years this support has included computer training, provision of books and school supplies and general support to the school.

Thanks so much! YOU made this happen.

Best Regards,

Develop Africa team
