Challenge

Help launch NFTE a new classroom this year in Baltimore! Funds needed to provide award-winning core curriculum, "Entrepreneurship: Owning Your Future" to 30 students from underserved neighborhoods, so that they can be inspired with entrepreneurship to develop their potential and plan for successful futures. Funds will also go towards class field trips to local businesses, so that students can learn firsthand what it takes to run a successful enterprise.

Solution

NFTE teaches skills relevant to the real world, motivating students to stay in school. Students learn to recognize opportunities for success all around them, and graduate with the necessary presentation, leadership, and problem-solving skills for continuing their education and contributing to the economy by either running their own businesses or joining the workforce.

Long-Term Impact

By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Over the last 12 years, NFTE Baltimore has reached more than 10,000 Baltimore youth and trained 100 teachers.
