Eating
You have sponsored Herbie’s new home. Our lovely pig Herbie and DAKTARI thank you very much to make this possible.
With the money you sponsored we were able to build a bigger and stronger enclosure for Herbie. We put in a cemented floor, so he cannot dig out or nothing else can dig in. He has 2 separate enclosures, one for the night, which has a roof, so no leopard or any other predator can get in. And the other one is for during the day, now he has a lot more space to roam around in.
He loves playing in the mud and wallowing, but I think his preferred activity is EATING!!! We take him on 2 walks every day and he seems a lot happier now! Cleaning his enclosure is something different though. He really eats and lives like a pig!!
The local children we teach every week, usually like Herbie. Initially they are a bit afraid because he has gotten so big, but after a couple of days they realize that he is a sweetheart. We explain them that he is a cross breed between a bush pig and a domestic pig (which shouldn’t happen) and that they are very intelligent animals.
Thank you very much for your support toward Herbie’s new home, you have been exceptionally generous!
Lots of love from Herbie and DAKTARI.
Best regards,
Ian and Michele Merrifield
