Summary

NFTE's entrepreneurship students come alive when they interact with business coaches and mentors from the community throughout the school year. NFTE Chicago is seeking to implement new mentoring programs, which will allow students to be trained by some of the area's best entrepreneurs.

Challenge

Beyond our amazing NFTE teachers, a key component of the NFTE program is allowing students to work with local entrepreneurs. Each student deserves to hear from a guest speaker who launched a local company and work with a mentor to help them launch a business. Beyond simply providing an example of what hard-work and an entrepreneurship dream can led to, these mentors also engage students with their business plans.

Solution

This project will allow NFTE Chicago to support 50 volunteers this academic year in our classrooms. Funds will go towards classroom projects and seminars from the volunteers, as well as the organizational and administrative cost of running a program for NFTE Chicago's schools. Students will increase their own network, learn from experts, and understand what it takes to succeed in the 21st century workforce.

Long-Term Impact

NFTE Chicago is committed to providing its students with the resources they need to succeed in the 21st Century workforce. This is part of NFTE's wider mission to instill in students an entrepreneurial mindset and allow students to plan for a brighter future. Since 2003, NFTE Chicago has reached over 15,000 students.
