Nandalal is almost 90 and he's a survivor of three Nepal earthquakes. He lived through both recent earthquakes and also one in 1938! Nandalal has no surviving relatives so he lives with an adopted family. Nandalal's family's possessions were buried in the earthquake rubble and they now lack even basic kitchen utensils. This means that, even when Nandalal's family have food, they struggle to prepare a meal. With your help, we'll provide cooking utensils to keep Nandalal's family healthy and happy
Nepal has been devastated by two earthquakes in less than three weeks. Almost 900,000 homes were destroyed or damaged by the earthquakes and hundreds of thousands of families, including Nandalal's, lost all their possessions. Many lack even basic kitchen utensils. This means that, even when Nandalal's family have food, they struggle to prepare a basic meal.
Your donations will be used to provide kitchen utensils, for Nandalal, his family, and other families in their community. Specifically this project will provide five cups, five plates and a pressure cooker for thirty families, including Nandalal's.
Your donations will give families like Nandalal's the means to prepare healthy, nutritious meals. In Nepali culture, the kitchen is the heart and soul of the house. By providing good quality, durable cooking utensils, we can help to put the normality back into families lives. These utensils will not only nourish these families physical needs, but their emotional ones too, enabling them to make a fuller recovery.
