Creating a pathway for young women to connect, exchange information and create relationships globally will increase global citizenship and provide an innovative space for change. Using art, sport and leadership skill development we are increasing a sense of purpose, belonging, and offering girls an opportunity to create meaningful projects in their communities. Between Sept -Nov we will be providing 30 young women with an opportunity for education, wellness and community development
Young women are facing so many challenges that are often met with unhealthy choices directly linked to outside influences. Treatable mental health and related issues of anxiety, depression and hyper sexualization often result in eating disorders, cutting, and unhealthy behaviours or relationships. As a result there is a decrease in focus on education, community involvement, and health and wellness for young women.
By providing young women with self development, leadership and project management skills to create community initiatives and projects, young women find a deeper sense of purpose and an increased sense of confidence to making healthier decisions and choices. These emotional intelligence enhancing skills increase present and future opportunities in education, career and entrepreneurship. Including a physical activity component increases health and wellness and connects them to a greater community.
Young women who have gone through our program prove to have achieved a greater sense of confidence, communication skills, and internal resources to create change in their communities. They have an increased sense of commitment to community growth. As a result, there is a decrease in local financial burdens on community, such as mental health and welfare services. Our participants become global citizens, offering positive and sustainable support to the health of their communities and our world.
