NFTE New England hopes to provide business mentors to our young entrepreneurs. With the proper guidance from these coaches, our students will have access to the expertise necessary to turn their creative ideas into a real business.
Students in underserved New England schools often have a great idea for a business, but don't know how to actually go about bringing that idea to life. Regular classes don't teach youth the fundamentals of business creation. In most cases, student don't have access to the advice that could help them advance their ventures. NFTE programs offer experiential activities and business education, but students need to get advice from real entrepreneurs if they are to succeed in the same capacity.
With the help of local entrepreneurs who have experience starting and running their own enterprises, NFTE New England students will have access to the expertise that could otherwise derail their business ideas. Funds will go towards classroom projects and seminars from the volunteers, as well as towards organizing and allowing for special coaching sessions between the coaches and NFTE's entrepreneurs. Students will be able to use their mentors' advice in the creation of their own business plans.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with over 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
