Thanks so much for helping us to provide an emergency generator for Guintigian Elementary School!
Although this microproject was not fully funded we have been able to combine your generous donation with other funding sources. This means that we'll be able to help the school as originally planned.
The school is used as an evacuation center during typhoons but it often loses power during storms and its rural location means that electricity is slow to be restored. This used to make evacuations even scarier as families often had to spend nights in the dark and lacked the ability to contact loved ones.
But now, thanks to you, we’ll be able to provide Guintigian Elementary School with an emergency generator.
Because of your generosity families sheltering at the school will have access to light and will also be able to charge their phones and let loved ones know they’re safe.
This will make the practicalities of evacuation much easier and will also provide comfort during difficult times, particularly for families with young children.
We’ll send you updates about how your gift is changing lives right here on GlobalGiving. Should you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation, please don’t hesitate to email Andy@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!
One last time, thanks so much for providing an emergency generator for Guintigian Elementary School.
