A year of meals for Schnaidine

A microproject by International Disaster Volunteers (IDV)
A year of meals for Schnaidine

Summary

Schnaidine is almost five. Her mother abandoned her shortly after birth, and she lived with her grandmother. But her grandmother had ten other kids to look after, so she left Schnaidine and her older sister Chanini at the orphanage. Schnaidine has a big personality - she can really hold her own even with the boys! She's doing great, and loves kindergarten, but without nutritious meals to keep her growing, Schnaidine's future will be bleak.

Challenge

Following the effects of tropical storm Isaac and Hurricane Sandy in Haiti, the cost of food has almost doubled. This makes it far more difficult for the orphanage to buy the food it needs. Without your help, Schnaidine may have to go without nutritious meals, leaving her more vulnerable to illness and less healthy.

Solution

By donating today, you'll help us provide the food Schnaidine needs to stay healthy.

Long-Term Impact

A healthy, balanced diet prevents illness and promotes healthy growth. By providing the nutritious food Schnaidine needs, you're preventing illness and helping her grow up strong!
