This project will provide a year of safe housing for Novelle. Novelle is four and after her mom died she was left in the care of a young aunt. Novelle's aunt couldn't afford to care for her and so she brought her to the HTDC orphanage. Novelle was very sad for a long time but now she's begun to smile again. But without the orphanage to keep her safe, Novelle would be forced to fend for herself as a street-kid.
As an orphan, Novelle is among the most vulnerable of Haitian children. There isn't an effective nationwide child protection service operating in Haiti to provide for her basic needs. This means that, without your help, Novelle would be a homeless street-kid, leaving her vulnerable to exploitation and destined to a life of suffering and poverty.
