Why Give?
Donations to R.O.A.R. projects will help make the world a better place for animals. Starting September 1, 2012, and continuing until October 31, 2012, all contributions to the projects associated with R.O.A.R. , including the R.O.A.R. Fund, will be matched 1-1 by Animal Planet, up to a total of $120,000, giving an extra boost to the impact your contributions will have. In addition, the participating organizations are eligible to win various rewards, which your donations and their participation help us determine.
The bonuses are as follows:
- $2,500 for the project with the highest number of donations in September 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the highest number of donations in October 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the highest dollar amount raised in September 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the highest dollar amount raised in October 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the highest number of Facebook shares in September 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the highest number of Facebook shares in October 2012
- $2,500 for the project with the "Loudest ROAR" (Animal Planet judge's choice)
Individual donations made online are eligible for Animal Planet's matching campaign. Follow the R.O.A.R. Leaderboard in real time to see how much of the matching funds remain and where various projects rank in the applicable prize categories.

What is R.O.A.R.?
R.O.A.R. stands for Reach. Out. Act. Respond. For Animals. Animal Planet has partnered with leading animal organizations to inspire people like you to make the world a better place for animals. Together, we have the power to improve the lives of animals in our communities and in the wild. All of the projects associated with R.O.A.R. on GlobalGiving are working to help animals in some way, through activities such as protecting wild chimpanzees, breeding the near-extinct giant panda, protecting acres of land for wildlife near Yellowstone, rehabilitating horses for therapeutic riding programs, and much more. Donations to the R.O.A.R. Fund will be split evenly or as necessary among the projects associated with this campaign. Donations to each specific project will be directed only towards the specific project(s) you chose.

- Fulfillment fee for donations: GlobalGiving charges a 15% fulfillment fee on donations but works to keep the fees you pay as low as possible while providing you great services and resources. The 15% fee covers all transactional charges such as credit card fees, as well as helps cover the costs we incur to promote organizations and projects, provide them with fundraising training and tools, and maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors. With our add-on option, we also offer the donor the opportunity to make an additional donation to cover the fee so organizations receive 100% of the donations intended for their projects. Fulfillment fees associated with R.O.A.R. matching funds will be 10% instead.
- Please note that GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the adjudication of unique donors and final results of the R.O.A.R. Challenge.
