The Challenge is for participants to generate donations for their projects between Aug 1, 2010 (00:01 EDT) and Aug 31, 2010 (23:59 EDT).
This Challenge is different from our previous Challenges. There are two categories of
incentives available to the EVOKE agents.
Group Incentives
- When 15 Evokations each raise $30 from at least 5 donors and receive at least one comment, the first 15 will each receive $100 bonus.
If at least 15 people do not reach this threshold, no money will be released and no projects are eligible for the following bonuses.
- When 15 Evokations each raise $300, the first 15 will each receive $150.
- When 15 Evokations each secure 30 unique donors, the first 15 will each receive $150.
- When 15 Evokations each receive 10 comments, the first 15 will each receive $100.
Once the participants meet the first threshold, whether you're one of the first 15 or not, you are eligible to compete for any of the other three incentives. Evokations will be competing for the second group of incentives simultaneously, which means that there is no order to incentives numbered 2,3 or 4. Any one of those can be earned before the other.
For visual learners, here is a diagram of the Group Incentives.
Individual Incentives
At the end of the Challenge, all evokations that meet the final Challenge threshold of $3,000 from at least 50 donors are eligible to earn one of the Individual Incentives.
- Most funds raised: $1,000
- Most unique donors: $750
- Most unique comments: $750
Please note that comments will be moderated by GlobalGiving, and GlobalGiving reserves the right to discount any comment as SPAM or irrelevant and therefore not counted towards any award in the Challenge. Unique comments indicates that the comments have been made by different people.
These projects will be eligible to continue receiving donations from the general public, private and corporate foundations through www.globalgiving.org Online donations will be accepted through August 31, 2010 until 11:59 pm EST. Checks received by August 30 will be included in the Challenge and will count towards the number of unique donors for each project. Checks received after August 30 will be applied to the indicated project, but will not count towards the Challenge. Checks should be made payable to the GlobalGiving Foundation and should clearly indicate the project to which the funds should be applied.

Online donations will be accepted through August 31, 2010 until 11:59pm EDT. Checks received by Auguest 30 will be included in the Challenge and will count towards the number of unique donors for each project. Online donations are considered unique if they are made from separate credit cards. The same credit card may be used for multiple online donations; however this will count as one unique donor. However, both of the donations will count towards your donation goal of $4000. The same rule applies to unique checks.Unique checks refer to checks issued on unique checking accounts.
Transaction fee for donations: GlobalGiving charges a 15% fee, but works to keep the fees you pay as low as possible while providing you great services and resources. The 15% fee helps cover the costs we incur to promote your organization and projects, provide you with fundraising training and tools, and maintain and improve our online technology in order to keep you connecting with new donors. With our new add-on option, we also offer the donor the opportunity to make an additional donation to cover the fee so that you receive the intended amount."
Please note that GlobalGiving maintains the right to make a final decision on all matters concerning the adjudication of unique donors and final results of the EVOKE Challenge.
