Why vote? | What's the Race to Innovation? | How can I vote? | Who are the entrepreneurs? | What is Bpeace? | Terms

Your vote will join with thousands of others to place much needed capital in the hands of these inspiring entrepreneurs in Afghanistan and Rwanda. They share a vision to help their communities by creating jobs and a bridge to better education, improved health, and less violence in the homes and on the streets. Bpeace will transfer 100% of your tax-deductible vote/donation to each entrepreneur as we guide them through their expansion process.

When countries like Rwanda and Afghanistan experience conflict and extreme poverty, the isolation created stifles the kind of innovation that sparks entrepreneurship and job growth.

Bpeace's Race to Innovation encourages entrepreneurs with bold ideas by providing them with technical assistance from Bpeace experts and seed capital from donors like you.

All the finalists (below) will receive 100% of the funds raised on their behalf. Additionally, Bpeace will continue providing technical expertise to help them invest the funds in their businesses wisely.

You can make a donation online or by check. Online donations will be accepted through June 20, 2010 until 11:59 EST. Checks received by Friday, June 18, 2010 will be included in the vote and will count towards the number of votes for each project. Checks received after June 18, 2010 will be forwarded to the indicated entrepreneur, but will not count towards the vote. Checks should be made payable to the GlobalGiving Foundation and should clearly indicate the entrepreneur (via project #) to which the funds should be applied.

You can also help by spreading the word to your family and friends about the Race vote and/or your favorite entrepreneur. Share via facebook, twitter, post on your blog, etc. Spread the word that "$15 is a vote for hope!"

They were selected from a pool of 250 applicants and a rigorous 3-round vetting process. Every applicant was interviewed in person and judged on: Business Viability, Innovation and Potential Community Impact. For the past 3 months, each entrepreneur has been coached by U.S. business people within the Bpeace network.
