The devastating earthquake that struck central Italy on April 6 has killed over 270 people, injured hundreds and left nearly 30,000 people homeless. The effects of this earthquake and its aftershocks have been widespread – buildings, homes and historical landmarks in at least 26 surrounding towns have been reduced to rubble, and rescue efforts continue to be challenging.
