Today marks the first-ever International Day of Education! This
day is meant to remind the world that inclusive, equitable, and quality education
is a human right.
Worldwide, more than 265 million children are out of school, 22% of which are
primary school age. This lack of access to education is a widespread problem—
but it is solvable.
From Kenya to Colombia and India to Indiana, GlobalGiving partners are committed
to educating the next generation—they're providing access to university-quality
labs, awarding scholarships, offering free English classes, training quality teachers,
improving access to books, and so much more.
Here are six projects working to improve education for children around the world:
