Service Trips and Volunteer Vacations

Give meaning to your adventures abroad by visiting GlobalGiving projects.

GlobalGiving's In-the-Field Program

With a backpack and an adventurous spirit you have the basic tools to visit GlobalGiving projects abroad. GlobalGiving's In-the-Field Program recruits, trains, and facilitates individual visits to GlobalGiving projects all over the world. We work with you to understand GlobalGiving, our partner organizations, and your role as an In-the-Field traveler. The rest of the details are up to you!

Every year, we recruit individuals to visit our projects overseas for short-term (3 months) and long-term (6 months) trips. Ideal applicants have experience traveling overseas, a background in international development and/or marketing and fundraising, and relevant language skills. Positions are unpaid and trips are self-funded.

Visit our jobs page to learn about current openings!

Volunteer Abroad

GlobalGiving partner organizations often need interns or volunteers. Check out our list of volunteer opportunities or browse our database of domestic and international projects. Let us know if there is a particular organization for which you are interested in volunteering. We're happy to reach out on your behalf. Don't forget to write a postcard about the organization with which you work!

Backpacking with a GlobalGiving Twist

Brian, a college student with a passion for international development, traveled throughout East Africa visiting GlobalGiving projects. He danced with members of RARUDO in Eastern Uganda, snacked on grasshoppers while visiting projects in Kampala, and cheered with the crowds at a soccer tournament hosted by AKWOS in Rwanda.

In response to his two-month adventure, Brian said: "through these experiences, I have learned and grown more than I thought possible. Most of all, I have been humbled by the amazing things I've seen and the inspiring people I've met along the way.
