Village Earth helps reconnect communities to the resources that promote human well-being by enhancing social and political empowerment, community self-reliance and self-determination. We do this by strengthening intermediate and grassroots organizations through fiscal sponsorship, networking, training, research and advocacy.

Programs

Village Earth (VE) currently works with six Global Affiliates: Peruvian Amazon Indigenous Support Network, Lakota Lands Recovery Project in South Dakota, Empowering Youth Cambodia, Sarada Group of Development Initiatives in India, Maloca in Ecuador and Village Care Initiatives in Sierra Leone. To faciliate more autonomous grassroots agency, VE offers Affiliate Services including US-based fiscal sponsorship, financial accountability and transparency; access to UN and US Government grants and contacts; Promotion on our website, e-newsletter, and direct mail; Assistance developing their own website, blogs, and donor-database; Fundraising, technical training, and organizational capacity building; VOIP telecommunications, teleconferencing, and e-meeting space; Research and advocacy support; and Peer-support meetings and conferences with VE staff and leaders from other affiliated organizations. Also, Village Earth offers innovative online training courses through Colorado State University's Continuing Education (modeled after 2 successful decades of traditional classroom delivery). Students can enroll in just one course or complete four courses to receive a CSU Certificate in Community-Based Development. There is one required course and 20 wide-ranging electives. (Admission to CSU is not required).
