To alleviate the suffering of animals
Animal Birth Control (ABC): Every year thousands of street dogs and cats are spayed/neutered by the Blue Cross of India. ABC centres are located at Guindy Chennai, Llyods Colony, Llyods Road, Chennai, Toducadu, Tiruvellore District, Kunnam Village, Sriperumbudur Taluk in Kanchipuram District Shelters: The Blue Cross of India Animal Hospital and Shelter for the treatment of sick animals and birds is located at Guindy The animals and birds are rescued by ambulances or brought in by caring persons. The dogs and cats are put back in the same spot from where they were picked, after full recovery. In few cases, when it is not advisable in the interest of the animal to be put back on the streets, they remain with Blue Cross of India. Out-Patient Department (OPD) Blue Cross operates an outpatient clinic for the treatment of sick animals at Guindy. The clinic is open on all 7 days a week. Adoptions: At the centre at Guindy, pups, kittens , dogs and cats are given away in adoption to caring homes. Ambulance services Round-the-clock ambulances of the Blue Cross of India pick up animals for treatment or birth control surgery.
