The program ranges from pre-school, non-formal education to high school formal education. Training and Livelihood : Our institutional and community based program offers training of and placement to youths with disability in Information Technology, Industrial Training and Industrial Sewing Skills round the year. Therapy & Mobility Aid services : Through our physiotherapy, spinal cord injury and orthotic units we facilitate disabled people adjust to various situations and provide them with mobility aids to get the most out of life. We also train 1000 people every year on giving various types of therapy. In order to promote independent mobility, this unit produces orthotic appliances for all types of people with disability, while also conducting technical training programs on a long term and short term basis in manufacturing aids and appliances. People's Organization and Advocacy : The aim of this program is to create networks and partnerships to reach more people with disabilities and influence policies and systems towards welfare and rights of people with disability. This program is very crucial in addressing disability issue in a larger context. The program focuses on building regional and state level bodies across Karnataka and beyond like Self-Help Groups, Disabled People's Organization and Federations. Horticulture Units:- We have two horticulture units at Jeevan Bhima Nagar and Kyalasanahalli having the capacity to train 100 disabled youths in gardening and landscaping. After 10 months residential course they are placed in gardening jobs in Corporate, Apartment Complexes etc etc Communication and Fund-Raising (C&F) :- The key functions of this department are to create awareness on disability issues, engage involvement & participation of people into our programs and mobilize resources. Resource can be in terms of funds, volunteers and materials. Resource support to other organizations :The aim of this program is to identify other suitable NGOs working in the area of disability and provide them with both technical and financial support so that they can reach out to people with disability in their geography. This is APD's indirect way to reach more and more disabled people in a cost-effective manner. Causes we serve:- We work with people with disabilities, especially from lower socio-economic segment to make them become both functionally, emotionally and economically independent. This is done through Education, Healthcare & Therapy and other Livelihood Programs.
