Critter Camp Exotic Pet Sanctuary

Critter Camp's Mission is to provide a safe, healthy, happy forever home to unadoptable small exotic and unusual pets. These animals are unadoptable due to advanced age, chronic illness, aggression and/or excessive fearfulness, generally from abuse or neglect. Many come to us from other shelters where they were to be euthanized. Our main goal is to provide care for as many of these forgotten pets as possible. Critter Camp's secondary goal is to educate the public on the needs of these pets for two outcomes. One is to help current pet owners provide better care of their pets, the second is to prevent impulse buying of these types of pets by creating educated potential pet owners. Critter C...

Mission

Critter Camp also has an Emergency Help Program where we assist pet owners in keeping their pets during times of crisis such as unemployment, health issues, house fire, and natural disasters. We may temporarily house the pet, provide food, caging or other supplies, and occassionally assist with veterinary care costs.

Programs

Critter Camp's project is twofold. $20,000 of the award will be used to help care for the current animals at Critter Camp as well as enable us to save the lives of an additional 100 pets. The remaider of $30,000 will be used to purchase land for our proposed new facility. We have multiple sites in mind and are confident we can quickly acquire the land we need . This will be followed by other grants and donations to build the facility which will be able to provide a safe home for over 1000 animals, have an adoption center for the adoptables we do end up with (such as when we accept a pregnant animal- we can adopt her babies out to prescreened applicants), an education center for presentations, more room for our hands-on tours, handicap accessibility, and much more. This facility will also use solar and wind power, and operate in numerous other "green" ways. We have much of the labor already doneted as well as some services and supplies. Critter Camp needs this initial monetary donation to begin the process so that we may save thousands more small animals.
