Help Orphan Puppies, Inc.

Help Orphan Puppies, Inc is a rescue organization dedicated entirely to puppies. We accept all puppies into our program, regardless of abuse, injuries or medical needs, or breed. We believe that all puppies should be given an equal chance and most behavior problems later in life can be attributed to people, not the breed. Our puppies are allowed to develop and grow at their own pace. We do not place a time limit on our puppies, rather placing them when they are ready for their "forever home". All puppies are raised with people and others dogs of all sizes. We crate train all of our puppies. By not having too many puppies at one time, we learn their personalities and therefor...

Spring 2013

Hard to believe that it is already Spring 2013!  We are ramping up for pregnant dog and puppy season.  Just this past week we took in eight beagle puppies that were rescued from a hoarding situation.  Thankfully their mom was saved, pregnant, and whelped 8 beautiful babies - quite a feat for a 15 pound girl!

We are also very happy to report that our special little girl, Hope, was adopted.  Hope was the little girl that we took into our program after she was poisoned and left to die at the shelter.  Thankfully her new adopters were able to see past her neurological issues and her deafness to offer this wonderful girl a loving home!

We continue to be so thankful for everyone's support and hope that you will all continue to follow us and our success stories.

January 2013 Update

Hope
Hope

All of us at Help Orphan Puppies hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season.  We are very happy to report that 2 of our special needs dogs were adopted since our last report!  Porter, our special boy that required emergency surgery to remove an eye, was adopted by a wonderful couple.  Porter has a new 4 legged big sister and is very happy in his new home.  And Duke, our Great Dane that the former owners brought to our vet to have euthanized (he is only 3 years old), was adopted by a lovely couple without children.  He is sharing his new home with 4 rescued cats!  Sadly, our lovely Hope still has not found a home but we are hopeful that she will find a new home soon.

In the past couple of weeks we took in 6 puppies that were surrendered to a high kill shelter after the person that bred them was unable to sell them as Christmas puppies.  All were taken to the vet and then placed in loving foster homes to await adoption.

Thank you for your support to date and we hope that you will continue to support our efforts in 2013.

Help Orphan Puppies November 2012 Update

Porter
Porter

Unfortunately the last 3 months have been difficult for us.  We have taken in several special needs dogs that have required extensive medical care and rehabilitation.  Fortunately they are all on the way to recovery and will hopefully find their new homes before the holidays.

Our lovely Porter had to have emergency surgery and now is a beautiful one eyed boy.  He is spending time learning that humans can be the source of positive touching and love.  He is also learning that other dogs can be wonderful play companions!

Then there is our little Hope.  Surrendered to a shelter after being poisoned, this little girl could not even walk.  Luckily a volunteer we had worked with before contacted us and we took her into our program.  Hope was taken to two different specialists and now has a clean bill of health, although neurologically she will never be 100%, she is just the happiest deaf puppy we have had in our program.

And finally, our beautiful Great Dane Duke is still with us.  He was the dog surrendered to our vet at the young age of 3.  His owners had brought him in to have him put down.  Fortunately our vet contacted us and we took him into our program.  This poor boy has clearly been abused and he has spent months learning that simply touching his head or body would not result in further abuse.

We hope that you can all continue to support our efforts, as without all of you, we could not continue to save so many of these dogs.  We hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday season!

Thank you from all of us at Help Orphan Puppies.
