Programs

KEY PROGRAM AREAS 1. Community Home Based Care of PLHA Here we reach out to the communities and offer VCT(Voluntary Counselling and Testing), besides that, we also enrol HIV+ Persons into care and when their clinical eligibility for anti-retroviral therapy has been realised, we enrol them for the same. In Homebased Care we also have a section offering Palliative Care to those in great pain such as Cancer. 2. Orphans and Family Support We carry out home assessments and thereafter, come up with a list of families (meeting a given criteria e.g. Chilld headed households) and intervene in whatever way we can as budgeted. We also have a section/project in this program which only targets grandmothers - since many of them have orphans to take care of. 3. Counselling and Community Capacity Building We offer counselling services(free) to communities and persons in need of it. In the past year we were looking at trauma counselling; which we also realised as being very effective - most especially in households where women and children are abused. In this, we emphasise alot on behavioural change.
