Mission

Rotary is a volunteer organization of 1.2 million business, professional and community leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service. Rotarians lead service programs in their communities and abroad that address today's most pressing challenges while encouraging high ethical standards in their vocations.

Programs

The global eradication of polio is Rotary's top goal. In 1988, Rotary became a spearheading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, along with the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and UNICEF. Thanks to Rotary and its partners, the number of polio cases has been slashed by more than 99 percent and the worldwide case count is less than 1000. Yet as long as polio threatens even one child, all children - wherever they live - are at risk.
