We run activities that help children and youths attain physical, mental, spiritual and social maturity, giving positive teaching to the social evils facing youths today and encourage them to express what they learn through practical service to the communities. We empower the young to be purposeful and responsible for their own future and that of the environment

Part 2, Emergency Flood Relief Operations

Part 2, Emergency Flood Relief Operations

At the height of the Flood in Bangkok, an urgent phone call came to our office for help. Our Volunteer, Staporn was on the other end of the line, and she sounded very anxious, as she related how the floodwater had filled her home overnight, as the family was sleeping. She was very worried for her parents, both of whom had stroke and were not able to move with ease (especially her dad, who was wheelchair bound). The sales of food and water was also in shortage, and medication was scarce.

With this call for help, the Foundation for Life decided to once again round up volunteers to cook, pack and deliver food, water, medication, portable toilets etc. to this volunteer and those who live in her neighbourhood.

Again we have a video clip of the Emergency Flood Relief Operations for your viewing, as it would show you what it was like at that time. Kindly link to the following website below:

Being S.M.A.R.T. comes with a Prize

As was reported before, Foundation for Life's philosophy to "Teach a Child How to Fish" rather than just to give them a fish every day, is the reason why the Organization persists on training our younger generation with skills, a mindset of integrity and tenacity, together with self-discipline, so that they may be able to overcome the difficult times in their lives and to eventually be of assistance to others in their families and communities.

An evolving curriculum on Financial Intelligence was written and re-adjusted over the years, resulting in the S.M.A.R.T. (Stewardship of Money and Responsibility towards Treasures) Scheme which was launched in 2009, as a pilot project for the children and youths. By 2011, when the S.M.A.R.T. Scheme was officially launched, this curriculum was circulated and taught to around 2,000 children, youths and even adults.

In order to motivate the children and youths, a Contest to decorate the specially created, 6-slot cardboard S.M.A.R.T. House was put in place, with very attractive monetary prizes to be won!

By March, the results for this National Competition was announced and the proud winners attended the Prize-Giving Ceremony with much pride and satisfaction.

The Foundation is grateful to all donors and supporters for their generous giving, that has empowered Thai kids with tools to overcome various obstacles in their lives. Any feedback, response and advice that will enhance our outreach to youths, is most welcome!

Emergency Flood Relief Operations

Dear Donors and Supporters of the “Blanket Them with Love” Project,

Although many events has happened in Thailand for the Year 2011, nothing beats the memory of the Great Deluge that flooded 65 provinces, killing 815 people, destroying 13 million rais or 5 million acres of farmland, affecting the lives of 13 million lives, and devastating industrial parks that caused global supply shortages!

In the midst of such great disaster where callousness, self-centredness and despair abound, the Foundation for Life has found compassion, altruism and hope, especially in you, through the Global Giving network, Thus the Foundation could not but respond by making greater efforts to round up local donors and volunteers to aid in the immediate flood relief work. As a result, we can truly testify that goodness and love still exist in our world today.

In all 2,000 emergency lifepacks have been given out, together with drinking water, pampers, dried foodstuff, milk powder, medication, portable toilets, etc.. As the saying goes, "A picture paints a thousand words" so we have posted a link for you to browse in the youtube:
