Glenn Paige Nonkilling School in construction (2)

The walls ‘elevation of the first block of our school (wich called "Glenn Paige Nonkilling School" in honor of Professor Glenn Paige, on the occasion of his 80th birthday) continues and tends to end.

Work progress is visible and real, windows emerge; despite the challenges we face mainly due to the failure of construction materials stock. This is mainly due to the remoteness of our construction site Kazimia (from major traders centers) but also by a lack of regular transport on Lake Tanganyika. (Kazimia is now reachable only by boat on the lake).
This has suggested to Mr Mabwe Silas, chief district Katondje where is built the School "Ijapokuwa matofali na sima binatoka mbali, kazi ya majengo inaendelea vizuri" ( Kiswahili language and means in English "despite as bricks and cement from a far, construction is progressing well”).

This progress we owe to the different generous donors around the world who give the best of themselves so that our children have a healthy and solid education. We expect these children to be elements of change for building a new world, a world without murder. Yes, anonkilling society is possible.

For this work can proceed, advice and suggestions are welcome. To all, we wish a Happy Easter and much blessings.

The Glenn Paige Nonkilling School in construction

The construction work of Glenn Paige Nonkilling School is a modern school, nicely spaced and viable follows its normal course. Certainly, Kazimia is a remote village from the major traders centers and supplies and it can be reached periodically by boat on the Lake Tanganyika. In spite of suffering sometimes with the insufficient of the construction material (especially the cement)and the exceptional rains at the area, the work is progressing quite well. Now, we continue to raise the walls; so the elevation of the first block wall is almost completed. We believe that we are up to the goal we set for the funds received, as noted by Mwanue Msambya (Head Teacher of the School) : 'Majengo yanaendelea vizuri na masomo yetu ni hakika' (Kiswahili language that means : The construction is quite good and our dream becomes a reality). The accomplishment of Kazimia population dream is the work of different generous donors around the world, who have been touched by the serious situation of DR Congo children. We beg them to find here our deep gratitude. This work will outlive us and make the difference in the world : to bring children doomed to mediocrity of misery and hate, to become the center of non-violence and radiating the African Great Lakes Region by sparks of love, humanism and development. We will be proud to receive suggestions to improve the quality of our work. Joyful, Peaceful and Healthy New Year to all.

The materials just arrived at Kazimia !

Our construction project « Glenn Paige Nonkilling School » progressing well. The 2013-2014 school year coincide   with the arrival, by boat, of new construction materials (15 000 bricks, 13 bags of cement and 8 bars of iron concrete). Students and people rushed to the port to welcome with joy the equipment.

“Boti yose ekyulé, byacwa  manga” (The boat is full, a lot of material coming) exclaimed with emotion Mwaliasha (a former student of the school , now in secondary school elsewhere.

Certainly, we recognize that the material has a bit late arriving to the site (Kazimia). This is due to lack of cement in the region and the difficulties related to the availability of means of transport (traffic is once a month and there  is a lot of loads to be transported).

Now construction resumed however disturbed by long days of heavy rains. The next report will show, through photos, this significant progress.

We sincerely thank our generous donors around the world  for support this work. A work for children who have suffered from the war. It is a pride for our donors to provide them with decent local school. Our wish is to see “Glenn Paige Nonkilling School” dressed in his  pretty and clean clothes (buildings) radiate, shine in this region of killings darkness and bring sweet and heat rays of nonkilling.

Your suggestions and advice will help us to accomplish our tasks. Love and peace.
