Programs

CREATA is currently working in Nairobi, Nakuru and Migori Counties in Kenya. Our current programs include Peace and Governance, Sports for Peace and Development, Football for Water Hygiene and Sanitation (F4WASH), and Elimu Savings Fund. Peace and Governance CREATA is implementing civic education on the new constitution in Migori County in partnership with Ford Foundation International Fellowship Program (IFP) in order to enhance good governance, peaceful election and positive co existence in Migori County. This program aims at empowering communities in Migori with adequate knowledge to actively take up their civic responsibilities in the implementation of the constitution and peaceful election. CREATA not only empowers children, the youth, women, marginalized communities, but also creates an enabling environment for children and young people to become peace builders and work for social change in their communities. Sports for Peace and Development This program aims at unleashing the potential of children and young people and communities through sports towards community transformation and development. CREATA has initiated over 40 junior football clubs and uses sports to enhance access, retention and completion of school by vulnerable children; helping girls and boys to claim space, build self-esteem, develop leadership skills and strengthen social relationships. Through this program, CREATA is currently striving to 1. establish formidable sports infrastructures friendly to children and tailor made for imparting values to children and the youth. 2. improve the culture of saving among community members to fund education of children through joint fundraising activities spearheaded by parents. Football for Water Hygiene and Sanitation (F4WASH) Program F4WASH program is a public private partnership (PPP) initiative which aims at using football to promote water, hygiene and sanitation in primary schools. In partnership with KNVB, UNICEF and Vitens Evides, CREATA will ultimately implementing this program in 60 schools in Migori and Nakuru counties. The aim of F4WASH is to improve health and academic performance of school-going children and ultimately improve the quality of life of the children, their families and communities. Elimu Savings Fund (ESF) ESF is a flexible savings scheme that allows parents to save as little as (50) fifty shillings for their children's secondary and tertiary education. The ESF is packaged to enable savings with ease and fun while both parents and children enjoy numerous benefits. ESF is a pro-poor savings scheme pioneered by CREATA and designed to assist parents meet their children's education requirements easily. Through the scheme, children are assured of accessing post primary education without hustles
