GlobeMed at GWU specifically aims to improve the health of the impoverished in solidarity with our Partner RVCP, a grassroots organizations in Southern Rwanda, through self-sustainable programs.

Mission

GlobeMed aims to strengthen the movement for global health equity by empowering students and communities to work together to improve the health of the impoverished around the world. GlobeMed at GWU specifically aims to improve the health of the impoverished in solidarity with our Partner RVCP, a grassroots organizations in Southern Rwanda, through self-sustainable programs.

Programs

The Maternal Healthcare Education Program is a ten-session education program for women in the local community of Butare, Rwanda, empowering them to see the health of themselves and their children as an important facet of their lives and community. An agricultural Income Generation Project was launched to supplement the MHEP in order to bolster local living conditions. Participants in the MHEP form cooperatives with the land and goats provided,and will be able to take small loans from the account.
