Lunch Buddy Program finishes banner year!

The Lunch Buddy Program finished the school year with 82 successful mentoring matches.  We celebrated the great year by having a fun party at Kellogg Bowl at the end of May.  The program will resume in early September when the 2014-2015 school year begins.  We have already heard from many mentors that they would like to be rematched with thier Buddy from last school year.

As the school year ended, the Lunch Buddy coordinator continuted to work towards finishing the Quality Based Mentoring Program training through Oregon Mentors.  The program should succeed in achieving this designation by the end of September.

Great year for Lunch Buddy program!

The North Clackamas Lunch Buddy program has had a steady stream of new volunteers throughout this school year.  We are currently at 78 Buddy matches for the year and 26 of those adults are new to the program.  We have had only 2 matches end during this year and both of those were due to the adult changing jobs.  We are currently working on getting our end of year celebration planned.

The Lunch Buddy program has been going through a quality based mentoring program training with Oregon Mentors this year.  In this training, we are working on adapting our current practices so they aline with the best practice standards in youth mentoring.  This has been a huge undertaking but will strengthen the services the Lunch Buddy program is able to offer the youth in our school district when we are finished with it.

Off to a great start

The North Clackamas Lunch Buddy program is off to an amazing start this school year.  We currently have close to 70 mentor/mentee matches.  This is up from 48 at this time last year.   We are on target to break all mentor match records in the 20 year history of the North Clackamas Lunch Buddy program.

In addition to this wonderful news, the North Clackamas Lunch Buddy program is also going through a Quality Based Mentoring (QBM) program training with Oregon Mentors.  The purpose of this 2 year training is to strengthen the Lunch Buddy program's current practices and standards.  We are excited to see the improvements that we can make to an already outstanding mentoring program.

The Lunch Buddy office will be closed during the school winter break.  We look forward to making more quality mentor/student matches in the new year!
