The mission of the NCEF is to bridge the gap between district funding and unmet student needs.
The NCEF supports the NCSD through a variety of ways. Each year, the NCEF dedicates money toward Classroom Enrichment Grants that help fund creative, inspiring projects that are beyond the district's funding capacity. NCEF provides scholarships to graduating high school seniors to continue their education at a regional college or accredited trade school of their choosing. Music and arts programs often need expensive equipment and supplies that are not covered by our schools' shrinking budgets. The NCEF has helped purchase instruments for our elementary music teachers, arts supplies for our classrooms and funding for student performances. To ensure that no student misses out on an opportunity to participate in an elective course, art class or sport because of inability to pay the activity fees, the Foundation provides funds to offset the cost of these fees to students in need. The Foundation supports the district's academic programs by helping with funding and grant writing assistance for professional development, equipment for science classrooms and other needed academic supports.
