Programs

The Okapi Conservation Project is a "flagship" program for conservation in the region, promoting the okapi as an ambassador representing the incredible diversity of species found in the Ituri Forest, including forest elephants, chimpanzees, antelopes, birds, and 1000's of plant species. The Okapi Conservation Project supports protection of a huge landscape regarded as one of the most bio diverse areas in all of Africa. In addition we work to engage local communities to utilize local resources in a sustainable manner that benefits wildlife as well as improves their quality if life. The Okapi Wildlife Reserve sustains populations of okapi, forest elephant, chimpanzees and a myriad of other species
