"Giving Back in Brand New Ways" K.I.D.S.' mission is to provide NEW clothing, toys, shoes, baby products, books and more to children and families challenged by poverty, homelessness, domestic abuse, low literacy, military family service, major illness, incarcerated family members, and disaster survival. The idea behind K.I.D.S. is simple. One caring response to one child in the crisis of poverty, with one donation of a new piece of clothing or shoes, a toy or a book of their own. It's about one gift, to one child at a time that builds hope, self-esteem and an opportunity to succeed. Now multiply that by hundreds of thousands, even millions, and you can see how you can help us ma...

Charity Rankings and Navajo Mission

K.I.D.S.’ programs span the United States, enabling us to reach thousands of children in need through our network of over 1,000 community partners. Community partners like Pam Engel, from the Wyatte Baptist Church in Greenville, MS, could not express just how much of an impact our donations have on the children she serves. As she states: "Thank you so much for the love you give us through donations for our missions. That same love reaches so very many and in return they send their thanks and prayers."

As a result of the wonderful support of our donors, K.I.D.S. reached the children pictured above as well as so many others. Thanks to our ability to efficiently and effectively reach populations most in need, K.I.D.S. was recently ranked at number 207 on the Chronicle of Philanthropy’s 2013 ranking of the Philanthropy 400, with a 29% increase in private support over the previous year.

K.I.D.S. receives product donations from over 1,000 manufacturers and retailers and then distributes the new clothing, books, shoes, toys, educational materials and home goods that kids need to local social service agencies around the country, which they integrate into their programs. Over 98% of K.I.D.S.' total expenses go towards our programs, which has led the following organizations to recognize our outstanding commitment to fiscal management, transparency and service impact.

Charity Navigator, the rating agency for all not-for-profits, has awarded K.I.D.S. its "exceptional" 4 star rating for six years in a row indicating that K.I.D.S. consistently executes its mission in a way that outperforms most other charities in America.

Forbes Magazine ranks K.I.D.S. among the top 200 non-profit agencies and calls K.I.D.S. one of "America's Most Efficient Charities."

The National Better Business Bureau has given K.I.D.S. its highest ranking for 5 years in a row.

It starts with one person like you who makes a generous donation to K.I.D.S. Due to the tremendous support of our product donors, your gift is then multiplied ten-fold: a $25 gift provides $250 of new merchandise. It ends with children and families in need receiving something new of their own to experience the joy, relief, and pride that so many of us feel when we receive something brand new.

Please help us continue our mission by donating now.

Las Vegas: Cribs and K.I.D.S.

On October 14, K.I.D.S. had the pleasure of teaming up with Delta Children's Products on the latest stop on its nationwide tour to establish a network of Safe Sleep centers spreading the word on creating safe sleep environments for infants in the first year of their lives.

K.I.D.S. President Denise Williams joined Delta Children President Joe Shamie and First Candle CEO Kelly Mariotti at the launch event, which was hosted by Kim Amato, founder of Las Vegas-based K.I.D.S. community partner Baby’s Bounty, a human services organization that helps economically disadvantaged families.

During the event, Shamie stressed the importance of a safe crib and offered tips to the families with the help of First Candle, a leading national nonprofit dedicated to infant health and survival.

“This is an ongoing effort and commitment on our part to educate parents nationwide on the importance of safe sleeping conditions for their children,” said Joseph Shamie. “As a father and grandfather myself, I don’t sleep at night unless I know babies are safe in our cribs.”

K.I.D.S. supports Delta’s initiatives and is the brand’s partner on this journey. “We at K.I.D.S. are very proud of our ongoing collaboration with Delta Children’s Products to educate parents nationwide about safe sleep environments for infants,” said  Denise Williams. “We’re thrilled that Delta’s latest donation of new cribs will benefit parents in the Las Vegas area served by our local community partner Baby’s Bounty.”

Kelly Mariotti also noted the importance of the initiative. “The Delta Safe Sleep Campaign is an incredible effort! Delta is making it possible for local families to have new cribs – families that might not otherwise have a safe sleeping place for their babies,” she said. “Putting a baby to sleep in its own crib, with nothing but a mattress and tight-fitting sheet, can reduce the risk of SIDS, the leading cause of death for infants one month to one year of age.”

We salute our partners Delta Children and First Candle for their continued commitment to this important initiative and thank Baby’s Bounty for helping bring the message of safe sleep to families in Las Vegas.

Kids in Distressed Situations and Fashion Delivers joined forces to give more than 1,000 school children and family members affected by tornadoes in Moore, OK some extra help with new apparel and home items. JourneyChurch.tv in Norman, OK and OklahomaStrong created a fun family event on July 25, 2013 so that the children of Briarwood and Plaza Towers elementary schools could have the year-end yearbook signing and celebration that they missed when the schools were destroyed.

Burlington Coat Factory provided 10 pallets of new merchandise and BOBS from SKECHERS and Shoe Carnival helped with 3,000 pairs of children’s shoes; company employees also volunteered to set up and staff the event. The merchandise that remained afterward and 200 fifty-dollar Burlington gift cards were given to local charities serving tornado victims in neighboring Pottawatomie County and the Oklahoma City area. Thanks to all of our partners and many, many volunteers who made this event a success. K.I.D.S. and our partner charity, Fashion Delivers, has distributed nearly $7 million worth of new merchandise to partners helping Oklahoma tornado victims rebuild.
