Odumasi community now have clean water flowing.

Though donations we are receiving are still low, we have worked hard with the project communities to move our project forward. Our effort in the last three months was aimed at completing two outstanding Hand Dug Wells as indicated in our last report. These efforts and donations received in the last quarter enable us to buy one hand pump, which was used to fix and complete the Well at Odumasi community, where clean water is now being accessed by the 300 population of the community. The entire community members including children are so thrilled about the completion of the Hand Dug Well. They are very grateful to TRYAWCO and people who donated to make this possible. The community members including Yaa Bonsu (not real name) believes her life and those of her 7 children will not remain the same.

Presently we shall need more donations to buy at least 5 hand pumps to complete the outstanding Well at Zakari community as well as the 4 new ones almost ready for completion before close of 2013. Kofi Minta (not real name) who is a member of the Zakari community is very eager to see this happen before end of year.

We are now on Globalgiving UK and this was made possible by Helen Denyer during a visit to our project on 5-9 August 2013. We therefore hope donors in UK would see our project and donate generously to help us achieve the aims and objectives of our project.

Help Us Complete Two (2) Additional Wells.

We have worked had since the beginning of this project to ensure that our targeted communities get access to clean water through your donations. And as you may be aware, donations we are receiving in the past 18 months in not marching the demand of service we are providing to project communities.

As indicated in our last report, we completed one of the three outstanding Wells ready for completion leaving two more to be completed. Yaa Bonsu a mother of 7 children and Kofi Minta a father of 11 children from these two communities Odumase and Zakari respectively are eager to see that pumps are fitted on the two Hand Dug Wells to enable them have access to clean water. Within the past 12 months there have been many follow-up visits by members of these communities including Yaa Bonsu and Kofi Minta to our office, appealing for the completion of the outstanding Wells. Though work on new Wells has advanced in the past three months our appeal for donation is to help us complete the two outstanding Hand Dug Wells in the short term.

One (1) Additional Well Completed.

Out of the three outstanding wells ready for completion, one of them was completed and fitted with a pump early this month. The completed well is now benefiting the people of Agya-Atta community with a population of about 250 people. Whiles we are waiting for donations to procure pumps to complete the other two outstanding wells yet to be fitted with pumps, work on two new wells has started. This means we have started the excavation work on the new wells with the support of the new project communities.

As you may be aware, our project communities are mostly in the hinterland, which are not easily accessible by trucks and cars. The people in these communities produce the bulk of the food and the cash crops for the economy of our project district. However, they lack access to clean water and other amenities that can promote good health. The hand dug wells we are providing with your donations is now making a great impact in the lives of the people. Kumah Dogbe a farmer with two wife’s and 9 children in Agya-Atta community is too happy for the hand dug well, which has been completed for his community. According to him, the provision of the hand dug well has come as a big relief to him and other members of the community, which he believe would go a long way to improve their health. There are many people like Kumah Dogbe in other communities who need access to clean water and this can only be possible with your generosity by donating to this project.
