To improve the scholastic, character, and physical development of urban youth through a combination of academic support and tennis instruction/competition with a focus on life-skills.
Tenacity was created in 1999 to serve children who would otherwise lack a safe, productive and healthy out-of-school-time (after-school and summer) environment. The vision of Tenacity's founder, Ned Eames, was to an organization that would enable urban youth to achieve excellence in the classroom while imparting life skills and promoting character development. Tennis is the magnet to attract and retain students who participate in a high quality academic support and physical fitness program.
