Verbo Nicaragua Development Fund

VNDF seeks to help impoverished Nicaraguans break out of the cycle of intergenerational poverty into which they were born by providing access to education, employment, health care, and affordable credit. VNDF is an international advocate for Verbo Nicaragua ministries which is based in Managua, Nicaragua, has been in existence since 1976 and operates nationwide. Nicaragua is the second-poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.

Most families want their children to complete their education but have no money for supplies, or access to a school, or need their children to work to supplement their family income.

These remote villages are often several hours' walk from the closest nearby town. Trips by car are rare and made more difficult by poor conditions during rainy season.

Nicaraguans living in the 12 communities to be served by the Training Center earn, on average, less than $1 per day. They have no electricity or access to running water or nearby healthcare.
