International Disaster Volunteers (IDV)

At IDV we believe that to provide meaningful relief and reconstruction assistance to disaster affected communities around the world we have to do more than reconstruct buildings. We need to understand and address the factors that made a community vulnerable to the disaster in the first place. Our work will be organised with these factors in mind so we can effect change that far outlives our presence.

Thanks so much for supporting children like Shane

They
They're supported thanks to you!

We’d like to thank you for your support of Shane and children like him who have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan's devastating effects.

Children with developmental disabilities like Shane are particularly vulnerable after a disaster. They are less able to cope with change and meet their own needs. Before the disaster Shane got the therapy he needed at the Aram Learning studio. But now, the school is closed, leaving Shane and other children with disabilities without the support they need.

But thanks to you, the school's teachers will be able to restart therapy for him. These short-term sessions will give Shane the support he needs until the school re-opens. Thanks so much!

We’ll keep updating you on Shane and his classmates right here on GlobalGiving. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Emma@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!

Thanks again, and very kind regards!

Thanks so much for supporting Wisly!

Jumping for joy thanks to you!
Jumping for joy thanks to you!

Wow! We can’t believe that you funded an entire year of school for Wisly with just a few clicks and your amazing generosity.

Because of you, we’ll be able to keep Wisly in school and learning the skills he needs to build a brighter tomorrow. Wisly’s been doing really well in school, but if he needs extra help we’ll be there to get him the tutoring he needs.

We’ll be able to support Wisly because you chose to give. There are so many things you could have spent your hard earned money on, but you chose Wisly. Thanks so much.

We’ll keep updating you about Wisly and all his classmates through this project’s parent page, Provide a Safe Home for Haitian Orphans. If you ever have any questions about how we're using your donation, please email Emma@IDVolunteers.org. We’d love to hear from you!

Thanks again, and very kind regards!

Your inspiring Holiday Season support

Jumping for joy thanks to you!
Jumping for joy thanks to you!

We’d like to extend a warm thank you for your generosity! Together, you’ve given a fantastic $9,747 this holiday season.

Your gifts are changing kids like Jean-Wilkenson's lives. Before you began supporting the orphanage, Wilkenson lived on the streets selling water. Because you chose to give, today Wilkenson has a safe home, food and health care, and dreams of being a doctor.

Thanks so much for giving Wilkenson and 30 kids like him a future!

As we move into a brand new year, we’re focusing on a more sustainable HTDC by investing in a bus business. While the business gets off the ground, it’s a huge comfort to know that donors like you will be there to help kids like Wilkenson .

As always, if you ever have any questions about how we’re using your donation please don’t hesitate to email Emma@IDVolunteers.org. I would love to hear from you!

Thanks again, and very kind regards.
