Gwalior Childrens Charity works in India to help and provide for poor, disabled and destitute esp. children, women and the aged in Gwalior and Chambal region, one of the most deprived and oppressed areas in India for last twelve years through hospitals, mobile clinics in slums and rural areas, schools and Orphanages including "Snehalaya meaning the Home with love in Hindi". Programs

Snehalaya meaning the home with love in Hindi isa care home for disabled and destitute children, homeless women and the aged, where they live together in a family environment. It has the school (spl. need and main stream), health center and Gaushal on site with farms, orchards, gardens, sports and play fields with facilities for hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, multi-sensory room, vocational training etc. aiming to make these children independent. We work in slums and villages for intigrated rural development including hygiene, sanitation, vaccination, safe drinking water, health education, awareness and treatment as well income generation. We also distribute solar lights school going children esp. girls to facilitate education and decrease pollution. Our main stream school in Snehalaya Campus Helps educate children from surrounding villages esp. drop out girls bringing them back into main stream.

  • Other funding sources: Most of the funding is by individual donations and by fund raising by volunteers. We do get support from various grant making trusts and organisations too mostly in UK. We have about 450 volunteers who work with us providing their services as well helping by fund raising and donations.
