NEW SCHOOL YEAR REPORT

Koro and Saleh
Koro and Saleh

Almost one month into the academic year, the children love it!!!!  2 years ago when she came to ACFA, Koro had never attended any school.  Two months after her arrival, she told the CEO that she wants to be a TV reporter when she grows up.  Last June, Koro ranked 1st in her class of 100 students.  I say, Koro is well on her way to achieve anything she puts her mind to.  You, our donors, have made that possible, you have given Koro HOPE.  With your support, we will be able to resurrect many more children like Koro!!!!  So please consider donating today to our project so that we can accept many more children from a war torn Mali.

Donations made to our project on Wednesday, October 17 2012 will be matched 30% by GlobalGiving. We also have another exciting campaign going, which will double your donation, making all donations made on October 17 a 130% match! Give on Bonus Day for a 130% match! All donations made by 31 December 2012 will be doubled, so please donate and see your donation go even further.

MEET DIAKASSAN

Diakassan Coulibaly
Diakassan Coulibaly

In September, at ACFA-Mali, we welcomed our newest child, Diakassan Coulibaly. Diakassan is 8 years old and had never attended any schools before coming to ACFA. Since her arrival, we've gotten Diakassan and birth certificate and she started school with the rest of the children on 25 Sep. To avoid the academic disruptions of last year, this year we enrolled our children in private schools. After a week, I discussed with the children and they are extremely happy and exited with the new school. They went from 100 students per teacher to 15 students per teacher. We are confident that this year's academic results will be even better than last year's.

Koro Ranked 1st in her class of 100

Last year, our children were enrolled in public schools.  Despite the difficulties of studying in classes of 100 students, they strived.  We completed the academic instructions by hiring tutors who taught the children extra hours.  As a result, Koro, a child with difficult background situation raised to the top of her class.  By the end of the year, she was 1st in her class of 100 students, with 7.85 out of 10 possible points.  Your support allowed that.  Thank you for your continued support.
