Rain for the Sahel and Sahara (RAIN) forges partnerships with nomadic and rural desert peoples of West Africa to realize their aspirations for education and durable livelihoods.
School Market Gardens provide food for nomadic children to stay in school, community gardens provide food and income for the community. Volunteer women are trained to mentor at-risk girls to succeed in school while they learn practical skills in our mentoring programs. Women come together to form artisan cooperatives to support their families and their local school while learning new livelihoods rooted in traditional culture.
