Our Core Belief Las Manos believes in the power of education to improve the lives of impoverished children. Such children need food and shelter to survive, but to move beyond survival, to permanently change their lives for the better, they need more than this; they need education in a marketable skill. The ability to speak English gives access to stable and well-paying jobs, the kind of jobs that will allow them to support themselves and their families rather than to spend their lives relying on charity.
