Vision Africa

Vision Africa equips and empowers children and youths for a brighter future, ensuring that they have the opportunity to fulfill their potential and make a difference in their families and communities. The following principles guide our project partnerships and work. The emphasis will vary depending on the nature of the project. Provision - We contribute towards meeting the children's material and emotional needs. Protection - We protect the rights of children to have a happy childhood free from neglect, cruelty and exploitation. Preparation - We support projects that enhance educational opportunities and prepare children to fulfil their potential.

This project supports the education of Kenyan children in rural areas and urban slums. Building a good foundation is essential in education. We support Early Childhood Development centres with provision of feeding programmes and teaching resources. In urban slums the government primary schools are often overcrowded so many children attend non-government schools which have unqualified teachers and limited resources. Afterschool tuition programmes supplement the education students get in school.

Over the past few years we have set up Income Generating Activities at a number of our projects including animal rearing, farming, bakeries, hair and beauty salons, a fashion label and a recycling centre. Now we want to take them to the next level. project reportread updates from the field
