Progress Report on Food & Nutrition Interventions.

The project  aims to ensure that families infected and affected with HIV/Aids are supported to improve their livelihoods and have access to Nutritious balanced food. Current initiatives where 300 households have benefited and more awaiting to benefit have shown that participatory approaches involving all stakeholders as well as empowering local communities to take charge of HIV/AIDS problem have more chances of success.

Scaling up of experience obtained so far, exploiting indigenous knowledge of the area, improvement in the information flow and dealing with unmet needs are some of the strategies for the way forward in attaining sustainable solution for HIV/AIDS and orphans problem in Molo district as a whole.

We thank our donors for the success of the project so far.

Progress Report on Community Health Interventions.

The project has benefited the Kokwa community in a big way. In the last three months 850 bed nets were distributed to 170 families. Malaria cases have decreased, and we attribute this to cleaner environments especially no breeding sites. 1500 assorted seedlings including Neem have been planted by the households, Kokwa Dispensary and neighboring schools, the trees will not only act as mosquito repellants but form wood lots for future use as wood fuel to save on existing indigenous trees.

Through your kind donations we shall be able to provide all households with bed nets, build groups capacity in environment conservation and disease management and increase number of trees planted.

Progress report on Help Educate Mukinyai Orphans

There has been a number of initiatives taken towards realizing the project. 10 orphans have been sponsored to study at children's garden home which is located on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. The orphans will be accommodated within the institution and all there needs catered for, they will also participate in the 4k club school garden to get hands-on skills on farming, and have positive values on food and agriculture. 5 households of very vulnerable orphans were supported with 5 hens and 1 rooster, which they will rear and this will go along way in providing for their protein needs, and in future they could sell eggs and live chicken to earn income for buying other basic commodities. We thank our donors for their continued support.
