Beat Making Lab

We build Beat Making Labs in communities of need, giving young people the tools to make beats, record songs and share their voices with the world. A Beat Making Lab is an electronic music production studio small enough to fit into a backpack. Using a laptop, microphone, keyboard, and beat making software; we teach youth how to create music, and share it through our distribution partner, PBS. Beat Making Lab started as a class in the music department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but quickly developed into a movement.
