The Mission of Stop the Silence is to expose and stop child sexual abuse and help survivors heal worldwide. Our overarching Goals are to: 1) help stop child sexual abuse (CSA) and related forms of violence; 2) promote healing of victims and survivors; and 3) celebrate the lives of those healed.

Programs

Primary programming: 1) Road to Change (www.roadtochange.eu) - Matthew McVarish, Scottish actor, playwright, and musician, and European Ambassador for Stop the Silence: Stop Child Sexual Abuse, Inc. (Stop the Silence) began on 31 May 2013 from London and end in February 2015 walking for over 16,000 kilometers to 30 capital cities the European Union (EU) for 18 months, on the aRoad to Change: Walk to Stop the Silence.a The purpose is to foster a spirit of solidarity and partnership between the political leadership, community organizations, victims and their advocates, and foster social and political dialogue and change. 2) Art as Advocacy - Productions and screenings of To Kill A Kelpie, a Stop the Silence-play-turn-film written by Matthew McVarish and directed/produced by award-winning film maker Edward M. Smith, and the after-show presentations/guided awareness-raising and educational discussions with university/community audiences across the U.S. and the world. The program apackagea involves the establishment of on-going community-based programs through outreach to non-profit and other groups to raise awareness and educate in the vicinity of each showing, and the training of service providers. The overall program integrates arts and culture with public health information to move forward a highly innovative community-building effort while maintaining the highest standard of artistic merit. 3) Other outreach, education and training in schools, houses of worship, service organizations, etc.
